Morag Morrison
General Manager: Steeped in hospitality management. Pulls together the Winton teams. Ensures a happy workforce. Customer service her speciality!
Morag Morrison
Morag is originally from Kingston Upon Thames on the outskirts of London and moved up to Edinburgh in 1997 to pursue a career in hospitality. She worked as front of house manager in a number of Edinburgh city centre restaurants for 4 years before travelling in 2001.
Working around Australia and travelling south East Asia for 14 months gave her the opportunity to build on her experience of world cuisine, fine dining and event management, whilst seeing some of the more remote parts of the world.
On return to the UK Morag achieved a degree in events managements from Queen Margaret University in 2005. She has since worked at Winton moving from Events and Marketing Assistant to Operations Manager and now as General Manager. Her role covers all aspects of venue and event management including finance, operations, sales and marketing, and HR.
Morag admits to being a bit of a foodie and combines this passion with travel and rugby (which occasionally can be combined all in one!) Being a city girl, working on a countryside estate has ignited a passion for the outdoors, in particular adrenaline-driven activities, and loves nothing more than inspiring a bit of competition with clients taking part in activity days.
Christopher Lamotte
Marketing Manager: Passionate about marketing. Pushes back the new frontiers of digital marketing. Nurtures the Winton brand.
Christopher Lamotte
Christopher is a marketing evangelist who has been known to get annoyed with people who think marketing is just about advertising, selling or PR. He is a chartered marketer, a chartered surveyor and has a real interest in the constantly moving frontiers of digital marketing.
After completing an MBA at the University of Warwick, he developed his career in marketing and management consultancy, which included launching new software and consumer telecoms products. From late 2001 Christopher built up his own strategic and interim marketing consultancy, Real Marketing Specialists, specialising in strategic and interim marketing in the tourism, property, technology and education sectors. Christopher has been enjoying working at Winton since 2005.
Christopher is into cycling, skiing, walking, tennis and gardening. He is a family man and lives in Haddington within cycling distance of Winton House with his wife, Bornie, and three demanding children.

Julie Britee
Sales Manager: Charms the birds from the trees. Her contacts and knowledge reflect more than 25 years in the hospitality and hotel industry.
Julie Britee
Julie joined Winton in early 2010 and brings with her 25 years of experience in the Tourism & Hospitality Industry. She started off her working career training to be a school teacher, moved quickly into the Civil Service followed by the NHS and then took a quantum leap in to the unknown life of Hotels, spending many happy years at the exotically named Dragonara when that really was the place to be seen in Edinburgh.
Latterly Julie has been working with the Entertainment Company delivering 5 star and innovative events to discerning clients.
A cosmopolitan girl at heart (her Mastermind specialist subject would be shopping), she is growing to love estate life and has accepted that Hunter wellies are going to be more useful than Manolo Blahniks!

Rachel McAulay
Self-Catering Manager: Previous incarnations include cordon bleu cook, whisky expert, working too many skiing seasons and hospitality guru.
Rachel McAulay
Rachel has worked in the Events industry, both front of house and in the planning side, for over 12 years. She is qualified in Communication Studies from Napier University. She then indulged two of her great passions, skiing and good food, to work several ski seasons both in the Alps and in North America. Whilst in the Summer months cooking in Fishing/Shooting Lodges around Scotland.
Having been brought up in Highland Perthshire this was a great way to combine the fantastic Scottish scenary with the excellent fare that comes from it.
Moving back to Edinburgh to work for an outside catering company made her realise that restaurant chefing was not the same game, hence the move towards the planning and presentation of events rather that the catering side of them.
Other roles have included work at Leith's at the EICC and the Caledonian Hilton Hotel before spending several very happy years at The Scotch Malt Whisky Society where Rachel learned her whisky tasting skills and indeed love of the amber nectar!
Rachel has been with us here at Winton since January 2009.

Tom Wellwood
Front of house manager: Passionate about first class, unobtrusive service and customer care. Wine buff and sommelier.
Tom Wellwood

After four years, he left to join a five star exclusive use property, Myres Castle, Auchtermuchty with many similarities to Winton House as Front of House Manager, where he worked for seven years. Life on the Estate brought many different tasks, from hosting Champagne receptions to herding highland cattle.
In 2009 Tom represented Scotland in the Chaîne International Young Sommelier of the Year competition. Tom's interest and passion for wine have had him tramping the vineyards in Europe, Australia and South Africa.
He moved back to East Lothian and joined Winton in April 2010 as Front of House and Events Manager. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge in food and beverage. Tom is also an oneophile, which should ensure the cellars at Winton receive the same care and attention that Guests come to expect and receive! He knows a thing or two about whisky as well and is only too happy to share his knowledge and advise on an after dinner digestive.
He too is a self confessed foodie, enjoying cooking, together with travelling and of course a glass or two of wine!!
