
They can also be hired alongside Winton House, which sleeps up to 16 people and provides facilities for large dinners, meetings, receptions and parties in the historic splendour of a magnificent country house dating from the scottish rennaissance, giving a total capacity on the estate of 42 overnight guests.
Wherever possible, Winton Estate is managed in a sustainable manner and we take corporate responsibility very seriously. This policy is also applied to our self-catering properties, where, amongst other things, we provide full recycling provisions for plastic, paper, glass and tin.
The farmhouse and cottage are close to 20 excellent golf courses, sweeping sandy beaches, fishing, sailing, horse riding, hill walking, Musselburgh Racecourse, Glenkinchie Distillery, the Scottish Seabird Centre and the city of Edinburgh itself. There are 20 km of Winton Walks on the Estate for those who want a jog before breakfast, and we can lay on a range of entertaining activities (guests should book in advance). Clay Pigeon Shooting
Details : 35 shots on estate grounds with the 21 times Scottish Champion instructor. Prizes included.
Cost : £50 per person. Minimum is 10 people, or minimum fee £500.
Archery
Details : Fire at the target or at model animals in "The Hunt".
Cost : From £30 per person. Minimum 8 people or minimum fee £250.
Falconry Display
Details : Includes bird handling, feeding and informative talk.
Cost : £600.
Hawking
Details : Hunting rabbits/hares through the Estate with hawks.
Cost : £75 per person for for ½ day. Minimum of 4 people.
