WINTON EXPANDS OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATION & SELF-CATERING OPTIONS

This summer Winton House has increased its palatial overnight accommodation for guests staying in the House from 5 to 8 double bedrooms. Parties of up to 16 (if sharing) can now be put up in the comfortable style typical of Winton House, whether for company away days, staff training, strategy meetings or special celebrations.

The newly renovated Kinnaird Landing on the second floor has large rooms with fantastic views. One of the rooms even has a two-poster bed which has been specially commissioned for the Kinnaird Room.

Inevitably, visitors to Winton have a wide range of different requirements so the format of events varies accordingly. Overnight stays may follow a day involving lunch, meetings, team-building activities and, often, a four course dinner prepared with local East Lothian produce and accompanied by Winton's excellent selection of Michel Laroche wines.

Rob Steadman, Events and Marketing Manager, says: "About half our overnight guests book themselves in for our activities, whether clay pigeon shooting, quad biking, archery, fly-fishing on the Loch, team-building games or for one of our new 3 night or 7 night golf packages. Others are busy with meetings and brainstorming sessions. But, at the end of the day, everyone likes to relax round the open fire, malt whisky or Brammle liqueur in hand."

So if you like the sound of staying in a four poster bed, being surrounded by the work of James VI's master craftsmen and Chippendale furnishings, and being served a hearty breakfast in the fifteenth century Vaulted Cellar, have a look at Winton House's overnight accommodation.

Winton is also expanding its four star self-catering properties which accommodate 23 people (if sharing); both houses can also be rented on a fully catered basis or with Winton House. The six bedroom Wintonhill Farmhouse sleeps up to 12 in comfort, and overlooks the Lammermuir and Pentland Hills.

The second house, Winton Cottage, sleeps 10 and will be available from spring 2007. Historic, four star Winton Cottage has lots of character and is in a quiet corner of the Estate within view of Winton House. Fully refurbished during 2006, the house has 5 bedrooms and 5 newly modernized bathrooms all with showers, a cosy farmhouse kitchen, a large dining room over-looking the big, sunny, south-facing garden, and a state-of-the art 'cine-room' cum games room.

Both properties are ideal for golfing parties and Winton House can organise golf packages with rounds at a selection of the best East Lothian golf courses. Some examples of 3 or 7 night catered or self-catered packages are shown on our website.
