Drawing Room
The Daily Telegraph described this room as the 'pièce de rèsistance'! It is a room to be savoured; the moulded plaster ceiling is breathtaking and the Indian carpet, commissioned specially for the room in about 1855, is believed to be the largest single piece carpet in Scotland.
The public room, the great hall of old, where the Setons administered justice and banqueted, is still aptly used for corporate entertaining and business meetings. Not only can large numbers of guests be welcomed here, but the room can seat 120 for a business conference or concert. It also remains a very comfortable sitting room for small groups, centred round the grand fireplace.
