Golf holidays in Scotland
Play the best golf
courses in the world.
There are 22 excellent golf courses within 10 to 20 minutes drive of Winton House, including Craigielaw, Royal Musselburgh (the oldest playing golf course in the world) and Longniddry, with friendly clubhouses and affordable green fees.
Historically, the owners of Winton Estate have played a critical role in developing East Lothian's most famous golf courses because their lands originally included Muirfield (site of the 2013 Open), Archerfield and Gullane.
If you are planning a golf break with friends, then please ask about Wintonhill Farmhouse, our classic Georgian 4 star self-catering farmhouse that sleeps 12, complete with its own practice bunker and chipping area. We can also offer Winton Cottage, another extremely comfortable 5 star self-catering country house with lots of character which comfortably sleeps up to 10.
If you want to stay in your own castle, you should choose 500 year old Winton House. It sleeps up to 16 guests and provides facilities for grand dinners, receptions and parties in historic Scottish Renaissance splendour.
Catering can also be provided with these properties.
For those in your party who are less excited about golf, East Lothian offers lots of other attractions, wonderful sweeping sandy beaches, fishing, sailing, horse riding, hill walking in the Lammermuirs, racing at Musselburgh Racecourse, Glenkinchie Distillery, the Scottish Seabird Centre, the Museum of Flight, and, of course, the cultural city of Edinburgh is only half an hour away.
