It is one thing to stay in a four poster bed and be served a hearty breakfast, but quite another to be surrounded by the work of James VI's master mason and craftsmen, a Van Dyke and Chippendale furnishings!
On the first floor of Winton House are the principal bedrooms which sleep parties of up to ten. There are five bedrooms (3 doubles, 2 twin/doubles). The tops of the four-poster beds have been removed so that visitors can enjoy the ornate plaster ceilings from a horizontal position.
A further three twin/double bedrooms are available in a self-contained apartment with superb views.
Larger groups can be accommodated in the nearby six bedroom Wintonhill Farmhouse which sleeps 12 to 14 in comfort or 6 if single occupancy is required. A further farmhouse sleeping 8 to10 is expected to become available in early summer 2006.
